HTML <select> Tag

A drop-down list with four options:

  <option>Volvo</option>
  <option>Saab</option>
  <option>Mercedes</option>
  <option>Audi</option>
</select>

The output of the code above will be:

The <select> tag is used to create a select list (drop-down list).

The <option> tags inside the select element define the available options in the list.

The <select> tag is supported in all major browsers

DTD indicates in which HTML 4.01/XHTML 1.0 DTD the attribute is allowed. S=Strict, T=Transitional, and F=Frameset.
